Few words about…

“Golden Bass” International Double-Bass Competition will take place November 2022 for the second time.
After the extremely successful first event in 2013, this will be the second time that this double bass competition will be held.
Maestro Bernard Haitink has been confirmed as the Honorary Patron of “Golden Bass 2022”. For this second iteration of the competition, Maestro Teodor Currentzis will be supporting as Honorary Artistic Director.
“Golden Bass” seeks to support young double bassists from all over the world and to give them the opportunity to perform as soloists, thus gaining valuable performance practice for the future. As part of “Golden Bass” young people are thereby encouraged to give excellent performances and presented to a wide audience.
One of the aims of the event is to sustainably heighten the world-wide level of double bass playing.
Furthermore, an original composition will also be commissioned in the lead-up to the competition.
The competition is be open to the public and admission is be free. In this way we want to ensure that the candidates appear in front of a large audience, which is indispensable for the experience value that we are seeking to provide for those participating.
